Ilir Ciko

Ilir Ciko is an Albanian economist who holds a Master in Public Administration by Harvard University (USA) and an MBA from the Nebraska University and Tirana University (Albania).
Mr. Ciko has considerable experience in managing private and public organizations and teams, as well as developing and implementing large projects and budgets. His working experience in Albania and abroad includes economic research and various consultancies for international organizations such as USAID, DFID, UNDP, World Bank, IMF etc. Mr. Ciko has an extensive experience in public administration and notably he has been Albania’s deputy minister of economy (2003-2005). During his service in the public sector, Mr. Ciko has provided valuable contribution for the formulation and implementation of important development reforms in the country and its integration in the regional and global markets.
Mr.Ciko is a lecturer of international trade policy and business ethics at the University of New York in Tirana. He is also affiliated lecturer by the Institute for Competitiveness and Strategy at Harvard Business School, teaching Prof. Michael Porter’s class Microeconomics of Competitiveness for the MBA program in Albania.
Currently, Mr.Ciko is chief of staff and principal advisor to the Minister of Economy, Trade and Energy in Tirana, Albania. Mr. Ciko is fluent in English, Italian and confident in French. He is married and father of one son.
