Elira joined the World Bank in 1992, as a Project Officer in charge of social programs. Since 1997 to date she is the IFC Country Officer.
Before joining the World Bank, Elira worked as Associate Professor at University of Tirana. She holds a PH.D., in Applied Linguistics.
