Fikret Causevic

Fikret Causevic was born in 1963. He earned his MSc. in 1995 and his Ph.D. in 2003 at the Faculty of Economics, Sarajevo University. He was working at the Economics Institute Sarajevo as an assistant, senior assistant and researcher from 1989 to 2002. From 1996 to 2002 he worked at the Faculty of Economics, Sarajevo University as a senior assistant. Since 2003 he has taught at the Faculty of Economics as an Assistant Professor the following courses: Principles of Economics, Financial Markets and Institutions, and International Finance. Since May of 2008 he has been Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics, University of Sarajevo.
Causevic's area of interest ranges accros several fields, starting from the analysis of financial markets and international economics, and spreading over the analysis of labor markets, fiscal policy, foreign trade, monetary policy and impact of globalisation on economic growth and economic sovereignty. He wrote extensively about Bosnia and Herzegovina's post-war economic recovery and policy, impact of finanacial liberalisation on economic policy in the South East European countries, and global capital flows. He was the author and leader of the following studies: Fiscal Federalism in Bosnia and Herzegovina - the Federation of BiH and Sarajevo Canton, Total Fiscal Burden of the Business Sector in Sarajevo Canton, Human Development Report for Bosnia and Herzegovina 2002, Regional Human Development Report for Bosnia and Herzegovina 2003, Competitiveness Report for Bosnia and Herzegovina 2002-2005, Money Market Development in Bosnia and Herzegovina - Possibilities for the Introduction of Public Debt Instruments in BiH Financial Market, and Impact of Foreign Trade Policy on Trade Balance in Bosnia and Herezegovina. His study The Impact of Financial Liberalisation on Economic Growth of South-East European Countries was published at the London School of Economics and Political Science - Centre for the Study of Global Governance. International Forum Bosnia (NGO based in Sarajevo) published Causevic's book „Economic Sovereignty and Global Capital Flows“ in December 2006. An international edition (second edition) of this book was published in October 2008 by Icfai University Press, Hyderabad, India.
Fikret Causevic was a visiting fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science - Centre for the Study of Global Governance programme "The Faculty Development for South East European Countries" from October to December of 2002, and in June 2005, June 2006 and June 2007 (repeated visit).
