Gabriela Cretu holds a Diploma in Power Engineering (1991, Polytechnic University, Bucharest) and a Professional Diploma in Management (2001, Open University, UK). She currently holds the post of Electricity Expert at the Energy Community Secretariat and is also responsible for monitoring the renewables acquis’ implementation in the Contracting Parties of the Energy Community Treaty. From 2005 to ’07 she served as an expert in the Tariff Department of the Romanian TSO (Transelectrica) and was mandated to represent Transelectrica in the ETSO Tariff Taskforce, while also responsible (2006 to ’07) for the management of green certificates in Romania following Transelectrica’s appointment as the issuing body. Gabriela’s experience includes more than 15 years in electricity market reform and restructuring – gained since her initial employment in 1998 by Coopers and Lybrand (since July 1998 PriceWaterhouseCoopers) during the Corporate Restructuring Programme for the Romanian Power Utility
