Martha Martinez Licetti

Martha Martinez Licetti is an economist specialising in competition policy and industrial organisation at the Investment Climate Department of the World Bank Group. Martha has experience in the design and implementation of competition policies in emerging markets, including competition advocacy proposals to facilitate entry, market assessments and regulatory impact analysis in newly liberalised markets. She was Principal Economic Advisor at the Peruvian Telecoms Regulator and Head of Market Research for INDECOPI, the Peruvian agency in charge of the application of antitrust, anti-dumping and consumer protection laws. She has also advised firms on projects designed to improve private sector development and competitiveness, as well as lecturing courses in industrial organisation, antitrust and economic analysis of law. Martha has doctoral studies in Applied Economics, with concentration in Industrial Organisation, from Northeastern University; she gained her MSc from the University of Texas in Austin and advanced studies in International Economic Policy Research at the Kiel Institute of World Economics.
