Dritan Prifti
Dritan Prifti ,The Minister of Economy, Trade and Energy of Albania, was born on August 27, 1968 in Kuçove, Albania. Mr. Prifti graduated in 1990 from the History and Philology College of Tirana with a degree in English language.
Mr. Prifti holds a Master in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, Anderson School of Management. He also holds a Master in Public Administration from Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, USA.
Mr. Prifti has an extensive experience in the political life of Albania and the public administration service. During 1997-1998 he was the Chief of Cabinet of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs and during 1998-1999 he was the main advisor to the Minister of Finance. In July 2000 Mr. Prifti was appointed as the Director of the Cabinet of the Prime Minister and subsequently, from November 2000 to June 2001 he was the General Director of KESH, the largest public company in Albania, with 11.000 employees.
Since 2001, Mr. Prifti has been elected Member of Parliament in all legislatures and has been an active member of several Parliamentary Commissions. He is the deputy chairman of the Socialist Movement for Integration.
Mr.Prifti is married and father of three children. He is fluent in English and Italian.
