Vesna Filipovic

Vesna Filipovic graduated from the Belgrade Faculty of Law in 1992, before taking up her first
employment in the Company Registration Department of the Belgrade Commercial Court and as a court assistant on commercial cases. She was appointed as a judge in May 1998 and has since served as a civil law judge at Belgrade’s II Municipal Court. Vesna started work as a mediator in 2002 and was among the few first mediators in Serbia. She has attended mediation courses at numerous levels, three levels of Canadian curriculum training for ADR and training for trainers. A personal contributor to the inclusion of mediation in the Serbian judiciary through different projects, including participation in the group tasked with drafting the Serbian Mediation, Vesna has been an active participant in most the important IFC projects in Serbia within her domain. In addition to fulfilling her regular duties as a judge, Vesna also works as a mediator and trainer of trainers for new mediators at the Centre for Mediation.
