Business Environment Conference - There is Much More Work to be Done

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) Elimination of business barriers, strengthening of legal security
of investors, as well as further training of staff and reforms are the basis for the improvement of
business environment in South East Europe, it was estimated today at a regional conference held
in Podgorica.
The two-day conference was organised by the International Financial Corporation (IFC) in
cooperation with the Montenegrin Ministry of Economic Development. The conference is aimed
at promoting the reform of business environment in South East Europe.
The conference is attended by the representatives of the countries from the region, who will
discuss progress and challenges they faced with during the implementation of reforms.
The Minister of Economic Development, Branimir Gvozdenovic, said that Montenegro was at
the end of transition process in creating the basic preconditions at the legislative and institutional
level.
The intensity of growth and development of Montenegros economy greatly depends on the
investment capacities, i.e. on creating a competitive business environment, stimulating for its
realization, Gvozdenovic said.
He added that Montenegro wanted to become a regional business centre in the near future.
According to Gvozdenovic, the state is obliged to reduce business risks by creating the
professional environment suitable for a successful business operation.
